During two months at IMS Academy, I gained
confidence in speaking English and felt free to talk to foreigners. Also, there
were various facilities near the IMS in Banilad, so I did not feel
uncomfortable living. There is a Streetscape Mall just across from IMS, so you
can eat after class, have a simple dessert, and if you go inside, you can
exercise because there is a fitness center. I didn't go there often because
there are some price tags. And because there is BTC which is a large mart and
various restaurants within 10 minutes distance, I lived a very comfortable
life. The Banilad center usually consists of one native speaker class and seven
Filipino teachers, but it seems to be a proper configuration. Frankly, I had
doubts about pronunciation because I was a Filipino teacher at first, but after
I took the class, my worries were gone. The downside is that my teacher has
changed a lot since I went through both peak seasons. Also, the managers took
good care of me and friendly me first, so I was able to do my best. In
particular, Student manager Jang Hansol took good care of me and helped me if
there was a problem.
